Ok, so I really wanted to get into blogging again. So I got this blog. Back in August. This is my second post. As you can see, it's one of my favorite hobbies.
But for real, I think it would be good to improve my writing skills. And seeing as how my sister-in-law, Amy, and my mother are the only ones who even know I have a blog, I suppose this would be good practice.
So I've finally decided I'm thankful for trials. As frustrating and heart-rending as they are, now that I'm through what I hope was the worst of this year, I feel like I accomplished something. I guess the only reason I think this is because I'm miraculously still alive. Regardless of what exactly I went through, I'm so thankful for the encouragement of Christian fellowship. It's so uplifting to walk into a church filled with fellow believers who desire to grow in Christ. And as silly as I find some of the rules here at Faith and as annoyed as I get with the sheltered students, it's a blessing and a privilege to go to a Christian college with the Bible as its foundation.

a little rusty...

So I haven't blogged in like 5 years... not since Xanga. Anyone remember Xanga? Anyway, I just finished up an 8 week summer at a local camp. God is so good! I learned so much and had so much fun! One thing that was really reiterated in my mind this summer was that even though God made EVERYTHING, He still takes an interest in us. The theme was "In the beginning, GOD" and it was all about creation. It's so humbling to think of how small our earth is compared to everything else He created, yet it is where He chose to place His crowned creation. And so many of us are so proud thinking we're so important, when in reality, we're nothing. We're made of dust. We're going to return to dust (should the Lord tarry). We had some amazing speakers during the camp season, and I'm so thankful for what the Lord has shown me. Now I've got to switch gears and get ready to go back to school! I'm extremely excited about what God has in store for me this semester. I can't wait to see my friends and my brother and his family. I'm ready to get into more of a routine. I'm even excited about homework!! (what?!) One thing that's going to be a little tough for me though is the fact that my older brother, Trey and his wife, Janae have moved to Michigan. I'm so happy for them as they start their new ministry, but I am definitely going to miss going over to see them. My other brother, David and his wife Amy, live about 5 minutes away from school. I didn't get to see them too much last year. They have a baby girl, Lily, and she keeps them busy! Well I need to start clearing out my room so I can get some packing done! God bless!
